A grading holder answers one question: is this coin what the label says. A Boss Tag record keeps everything around it — dated photographs, who has held it, when it changed hands — on one permanent public page that transfers with the coin. A certified coin or banknote whose certificate is confirmed with the grading house that issued it reads independently authenticated, in gold, attributed to its source. A raw coin stays owner-declared and AI-assessed, and the record says so plainly.

Why it matters
Grading settles authenticity and grade, once, and settles it well. It does not record what happened next. The record is the file that keeps accruing: what the piece looked like on the day, whose collection it sat in, the day it was handed on. Most things worth keeping end up needing both.
Where the certificate on the holder is confirmed with the authority that issued it, that standing is entered on the record and reads independently authenticated — attributed to its source. Where it is not, the record stays owner-declared and says that instead. There is no third path where Boss Tag decides.
Certified notes are the category almost nothing is built around. A certified banknote earns the same standing a coin does, on the same terms.
The flow
Enter the certificate number from the holder and add two photographs of the piece in your hands. The flow runs in your browser; no app required.
A certificate confirmed with the authority that issued it reads independently authenticated — no re-grading; the issuer's own word, entered on your record. Boss Vision assesses; it does not authenticate.
Your record gets a permanent public URL. Share it, print it for your insurer, and when the coin moves on, hand the record to its next holder — they do not need an account first.
