Appraisal Services: Expert Verification
When AI Needs a Second Opinion
Boss Vision AI is powerful, but some assets benefit from human expertise — items scoring below 70% confidence (unusual variants, rare pieces, items with limited reference data) and high-value assets (above $50,000), especially before tokenization or lending against them. Today, Boss Tag authentication is automated only — there is no human reviewer. A human Appraisal Services marketplace connecting you with verified experts across all sectors is a planned future tier and is not available yet.
Planned Expert Categories
The planned marketplace would cover eight specialties: Watch Authentication (certified watchmakers), Jewelry & Gemstone Appraisal (GIA-certified gemologists), Luxury Handbag Authentication, Fine Art Appraisal (AAA/ASA accredited), Vehicle Inspection (ASE-certified mechanics), Property Appraisal (MAI/SRA licensed appraisers), Industrial Equipment Assessment (certified equipment appraisers), and IP Valuation (patent attorneys and valuation specialists). Each category would feature verified experts with documented credentials. This tier is not available yet.
How the Process Would Work
When the Appraisal Services marketplace launches, you would select the appropriate expert category from the Appraisals page, submit your asset details, photos, and any documentation, and an expert would review your submission and provide a professional assessment including authentication, condition report, and market valuation. Appraisal results would be stored on-chain and linked to your asset's verification profile. This tier is not available today — current authentication is automated only.
Planned Pricing and Turnaround
Planned appraisal fees would start from $50 for handbag authentication and range up to $500+ for complex IP valuations. Turnaround would vary by specialty — watch and handbag authentication targeting 24-48 hours, while property appraisals and IP valuations would take 3-10 days. Pricing would be shown before you commit. These figures describe the planned tier and are illustrative; the service is not available yet.
Becoming an Expert
When the expert network opens, certified appraisers will be able to apply through the Appraisals page. Planned requirements include professional certification or licensing in your specialty, a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience, and passing Boss Tag's verification process. Appraisers would be paid for each completed appraisal, with the platform handling client matching, payment processing, and on-chain certificate issuance. The network is not yet live.
